To let you know a little about us, in 1994 I came over from New Zealand (NZ) on holiday and met Kent in Driscoll, ND. We married the following year and have lived on the Driscoll farm ever since. Our three small boys are now one, six, and nine years old.
Being from NZ, where lamb is as popular as beef is here in the USA, I missed having access to a supply of consistently high-quality lamb, so I started raising our own flock. They are Katahdin Hair Sheep, a wool-less breed requiring no shearing; they were developed in the US for meat only, the most delicate taste of which is the closest to the NZ lamb flavor I could find.
Now we have 300 breeding ewes, and the lambs are processed in Harvey at the federally inspected ND Branded Beef and Pack plant before distribution to a number of restaurants: Pirogue Grille in Bismarck, Buffalo City Grille in Jamestown, 10 North Main in Minot, Santa Lucia and Hotel Donaldson in Fargo, and others as they take our lamb on.
Retail outlets include ND Branded Beef in Bismarck who carry our full range of 21 products, Central Market Supermarket in Bismarck, and Market Place Supermarket in Minot, both carrying a limited range of products.
We have 21 lamb products; from roasts, chops, leg steaks, NZ-style sausages, and summer sausage, to dog bones and treats, available 12 months of the year. We also ship to anywhere in the US.
Thanks for looking at our website and taking an interest in our products,
Kent & Kate Pfennig
